Our final event of the semester will be on Monday, December 7th at 7pm in Cormwell Hall (120) room 403. Please call Raechel’s cell phone if you need to be let into the building. This is a social event, so it is just for fun! And we will be announcing the 2010 Active Minds officers from the results of the survey.

Officer Elections

The officer election will be done through a survey that will be sent out Thursday, December 3rd through the campus email to all participants and members on the listserve. Please vote for the 2010 Active Minds officers!!

NAMI Walk

Thank you all who attended the NAMI Walk on May 2nd. Luckily the weather held up for us and there was a great turn out for the walk. Two people approached us because we were college students and they mentioned how grateful they were that we were putting the information out there about mental health and encouraging students to seek help. Go Active Minds!! Looking forward to a great year.

Lines of Love

Please check out the facebook group Lines of Love. They’re a non-profit organization that will directly benefit teens who struggle with depression, anxiety, and addiction. Lines of Love has been created in memory of Casey Spence, a recent Centennial High School graduate. Mr. VanWestervelt, along with the family and friends close to Casey, have created this foundation in memory of her, and to reach out and help teens.

Their first event will be this Friday, March 20th at 6pm at “Coffee with T” near our University because they want to be able to connect with our Wellness Center and our club. Please let me know if you would like to attend.

Committees

Remember! This is your chance to step it up and join a committee so that you can help plan events for Active Minds. Currently we have a committee for Send Suicide Packing and the NAMI Walk. Please email or write a post if you have any questions. Currently, Bethany and Ish’shah are on the NAMI Walk committee. Amy and Chantel are on the Send Suicide Packing Committee.
